When Scyther holds a Metal Coat and is traded or connected via a link cable, it transforms into a Scizor. Similarly, Onix evolves into Steelix under the same conditions. Not only does the Metal Coat serve as an evolution catalyst, but it also enhances battle tactics by boosting the power of the holder's Steel-type moves by 20%.

Crafting​

Crafting a Metal Coat involves a precise alignment of materials in the crafting table. Here’s the recipe:

  • Iron Ingots: 6 total; arranged in a three by three pattern with a gap in the middle row.
  • Clay Balls: 2 total; placed in the middle row alongside a Honeycomb.
  • Honeycomb: Positioned centrally between the two Clay Balls.

Drops​

You can also obtain the Metal Coat as a drop from certain Steel-type Pokémon. Here are the Pokémon and their respective drop rates:

  • Magnemite (Dex No. 0081): 2.5% chance of dropping 1 Metal Coat.
  • Magneton (Dex No. 0082): 5% chance of dropping 1 Metal Coat.
  • Steelix (Dex No. 0208): 10% chance of dropping 1 Metal Coat.
  • Magnezone (Dex No. 0462): 10% chance of dropping 1 Metal Coat.
  • Corviknight (Dex No. 0823): 10% chance of dropping 1 Metal Coat.

These Pokémon provide the most reliable chance of acquiring a Metal Coat if crafting isn't your preferred method.
